The English Premier season 2010/2011 starts in three days and the crunch matches has to be Tottenham Hotspurs versus Manchester City at White Hart Lane and Liverpool versus Arsenal in Anfield. The Blues are boosted by new multi million buys in David Silva, Jerome Boateng, Yaya Toure and Aleksandar Kolarov while the Reds must fancy their chances with a new manager and with Torres staying put. Both matches will set the pace for the season and separate the real contenders from the pretenders.
Meanwhile, defending champion Chelsea hosts newly promoted West Bromich Albion while Manchester United entertains Newcastle United, who like West Bromich Albion, also made a quick return to the premiership after being relegated the previous season. Both matches promise all the excitement as it would be a test of character for the newly promoted teams to face the top two of English Football. For Chelsea and Man U, early season matches against newly promoted teams have always been difficult.
The start is indeed going to be promising.
