Less than one month before the English Premier league new season kicks off, the transfer market is relatively slow.
The biggest transfer news is that Inter Milan rejected Manchester City’s bid of 25 million pounds for Mario Balotelli. Manchester City remains to be the biggest spender as they continue to court Valotelli despite having signed David Silva from Valencia and Yaya Toure from Barcelona.
There were rumours linking Luis Fabiano with Tottenham Hotspurs.
Champions Chelsea signed Yossi Benayoun from Liverpool but it is the departure of big name EPL flop Michael Ballack for Bayern Leverkussen that created some ripples.
Elsewhere, Liverpool signed Belgian League Player of the year, striker Milan Jovanovic, Arsenal signed French defender Laurent Koscielny, Manchester United signed Javier Hernandez while Fulham bought former Manchester United discard Jonathan Greening from West Bromich Albion.
Judging from the transfer market, the 2010/2011 EPL season could just be as anti-climatic.
