The movie trailer was darn cool. Imagine a human who can travel to another location at the blink of an eye. It was a movie which I have been looking forward to for the past month and I finally got to catch it over the last weekend.
The story revolved around a shy teen David Rice who had a crush on his classmate Millie and he suprised her with a snow globe of the Eiffel Tower when he found out that her dream was to travel and see the world. A bully named Mark grabbed the snow globe from Millie and threw it on the iced surface of a river. David walked on thin ice to retrieve the snow globe but fell through the ice into the icy waters. While struggling in the water, grasping for his last breath, David somehow found himself wet and alive in a library.
Dazed, he went home soaking wet where his father was screaming mad and tried bursting into his room. David vanished back to the library and it was then he realized that he has a special gift of teleporting himself. He left town the next day and ended up in a shabby hotel where he practiced his gift of teleporting. After mastering the skills of teleporting, David teleported himself into a bank vault and robbed the bank. Years later, an adult David lived in an expensive apartment where he had a room filled with cash and a wall filled with pictures of his world travel. He was soon pursued by a Paladin called Roland whose mission in life is to kill jumpers like David.
The story showed David going back to his small town to look for Millie and meeting his old bully Mark as well. David teleported Mark into a closed bank vault and left him there. It was this act of revenge which led to Roland catching up with David.
Meanwhile, David brought Millie in the conventional way via an airplane to Rome and showed her the sights where he encountered another jumper called Griffin who educated him about the Paladins. Two Paladins appeared but they killed by Griffith. David however was detained by the police and while in the police station, his mother suddenly appeared to ask him to escape.
The story continued with Millie going back to US and David going after her when he realized that her life was in danger. The finale of the show should David being caught by Roland but David managed to teleport the whole building into the sea together with Roland.
My verdict for the movie was that it was boring. It has nice story line but the script writers and the director killed the movie. Only nice thing about the show were the scenes shown in the movie trailer. Once you seen those, you have seen almost the whole movie.
